Article Introduction
Wireless radio-based remote terminal unit basically allows transfer status, control and measurement of signals.

Article Description
RTU is compact RF link based re- mole terminal unit with on board digital and analogue inputs/outputs interface with high-speed expansion busport, which operates on 400-477 MHz with 10-500 mW programmable power. Radio operation is semi-duplex with 12.5 bites / sec of channel bandwidth. The types of modulation adopted is sub carrier FFSK with radio data rate of 2400 Digital I/0s can be expanded upto 128 points where as analogue I/Os can be expanded up to 64 points. The basic module has 16 On-Off inputs and 8 on-off (PNP transistor) outputs with 8 counter registers and 8 timer registers.

These RTUs can be readily integrated with systems using third party software (SCADA applications, OPC servers, etc), RTUs can be applied in material handling area for CCRD systems replacement in stacker/reclaimer moving machines, monitoring alarms and other On/Off status indications in transformer stations, and in pipelines where flow data and alarm data are collected and reported to the main station. These RTUs are programmable logic controllers with embedded radio and having five communication ports that .can simultaneously connect to various intelligent devices with available interfaces such as USB, RS232, RS485 and Ethernet.

About Radio Modems
Radio modem offers maximum reliability and performance for wireless serial data transmission. Radio modems provide reliable, robust communication using suitable antennae like omni directional, Yagi-antenna, etc, at a range upto 20 km. About Radio Ethernet Hub
This Radio Ethernet Hub is a high-performance wireless Ethernet bridge capable of providing reliable wireless data transfer between all types of equipment, which have an Ethernet interface. This hub is designed particularly to provide robust communication in the harshest environments over distances up to 30 km.

A typical application is to bridge remote Ethernet PLCs to the LAN.
