Apart from being latest in diesel technology, the Safari Dicor has a power output of 115 PS and possess excellent torque of 300 Nm at low rpms. The dicor engine assures better power-to-weight ratio considering the near 2-tonne kerb weight of the SUV. The direct-injection turbo-charged engine of the 407 is a naturally aspirated version of sumo. The Safari Dicor is priced between Rs 7.83 lakh and Rs 12.70 lakh is available in three trim levels and 4X2 as well as 4X4 versions. The Safari Dicor compliments the current SUV range, consisting of the 135 PS Petrol and the 90 PS TCIC diesel variants.

The SUV also features drive-by-wire technology, which enables electronically controlled throttle giving a smoother driving experience and quicker response. The safari with its 1948 cc turbo-charged engine met the Euro III emissions in Europe with regard to protection of the driver in the event of a full frontal collision. The engineers have designed the head cylinder to incorporate the delphi multec 1600 common-rail system. This system is integrated with a 32-bit microprocessor, which electronically monitors and controls pressure at the time of fuel injection into the engine, ensuring a highly receptive and powerful performance and enhanced fuel efficiency. The safari has been entirely developed on CAD/CAM giving it extra features like accuracy and better control. The new Safari DICOR has greatly improved in terms of quality and finish, compared to 1998 safari, Which is very much evident form chrome plated front grill, large 16-inch alloy wheel rims, stylish bumpers with integrated fog lamps and crystal clear lights. The unique reverse guide system facilitates rear visibility while reversing the vehicle. The newly Safari Dicor offers comfort features like the Blaunpunkt DVD/MP3 player with dual LCD screens and a mobile/laptop port for rear passengers. Furthermore, it ensures convenience of the occupants through thoughtful features like a puddle lamp on the door, which lights up the ground beneath the doors at night to help in avoiding puddles.
